This series documents Myanmar's current state right before its 2015 election before Ms. Aung Sun Suu Kyi became the elected President. She symbolized hope for a better future. This essay consists of three parts: Buddhist nuns, Muslims and street life of people in Myanmar. Documented in five days, this series is a first look into this society facing change with hope. This place was full of hope, love, pain, fear and doubt.

In Myanmar, 90 percent of its people are Buddhist, and less than 4 percent of the population are Muslims.
Three years ago a big civil war between the Buddhists and Muslims took place and more than 20,000 Muslims were killed in this country. Many people were damaged by this disaster. The election was a sign of hope.

Will tomorrow be better?

When I photographed Myanmar, I felt the country was on the brink of a  rebirth. This change felt difficult. It just needed time.
