"Photos by Daniella Zalcman @dzalcman | I made these portraits of participants at the 2019 @womenphotograph Workshop in Quito, Ecuador: Sara Aliaga, from Bolivia; Ana Maria Arévalo Gosen, from Venezuela; Gabriella Báez, from Puerto Rico; and Mariceu Erthal, from Mexico. Be sure to check out their incredible work—they are the recipients of the workshop’s four portfolio awards! I created @womenphotograph in 2017 as a response to the gender imbalance in the photojournalism industry: only about 15 percent of working news photographers are women. Our mission is to provide resources to gatekeepers via our database of 1,000+ independent women and non-binary photographers, and structural support for women photographers through grants, workshops, mentoring programs, and more. For more, follow us at @womenphotograph. #InternationalWomensDay"
