Ashly Stohl

Ashly Stohl was born and raised in the City of Angels. She earned a BS in chemistry from UCSB, but spent more time hanging out with the creative crowd from Brooks Institute of Photography. After college, she returned to L.A.and put her science education to use, creating award-winning educational websites for NASA’s Mars ProgramOffice.

Ashly’s love for photography began when she was young, pouring over old family photo albums that told a visual story of her heritage. From a family of painters and musicians, she is a self-taught photographerand a die-hard film-shooter.

She has exhibited in many group shows across the country, and was awarded the Dealer’s Choice honorable mention at the Center Awards. She is currently participating in the Six Shooters project, a photographic conversation between six women. Ashly has jumped horses with her eyes closed and does crosswords in pen. She lives in L.A. with her husband and three children.
