Revolt. The raw expression of revenge / Ansia
The first beginnings of the punk movement can be found on late 1960’s in Detroit and New York. In 1976 in England it began as a philosophy and a sociocultural movement with great intensity. Punk was born as a consequence of the socioeconomic crisis of the western countries that left the great majority of the population in difficult conditions of exclusion, unemployment and political and social instability.
In Spain this movement was born later, in 1977, after the Franco dictatorship as an escape of accumulated anger, and an anti-fascist and anti-capitalist character. Creating a subculture contrary to the established system where the written medium as the fanzine and songs with lyrics clearly against the system were means of diffusion of the movement.
When I look back and try to remember my adolescence I cannot do it without listening punk or rock music on the background because I grew up on that ambient so it’s a familiar topic to me. For this reason I decided to create a photographic project about the way of life of a punky group. I talked to a punk band about the "Ansia " project and my interest on giving a documentary evidence of the meaning of "being punky" with a view from inside the movement.
I went to their concerts, rehearses and their meetings. I created a confident atmosphere that allowed me turning into something similar to another member of the group. In addition, I was interested on finding adult punkies who had lived and would live forever on the punk's philosophy.
I wanted to show their day by day, their life (their couples, their sons and daughters, drugs, music…. show his essence) and, over all, their disagreement with the society, sometimes very close to the hate.

Ansia . La cruda expresión de la venganza.
Los primeros comienzos del movimiento punk se pueden encontrar a finales de los años 60 en Detroit y Nueva York. En 1976 en Inglaterra se originó una filosofía y corriente sociocultural de gran intensidad como consecuencia de la crisis socioeconómica de los países occidentales que dejó a la gran mayoría de la población en difíciles condiciones de exclusión, desempleo e inestabilidad política y social.
En España este movimiento nació poco más tarde, en 1977, después de la dictadura franquista, como una válvula de escape a la ira acumulada, con un fuerte carácter antifascista y anticapitalista. El objetivo era crear una subcultura contraria al sistema establecido donde el medio escrito como el fanzine y las canciones con letras claramente en contra del sistema fueran medios de difusión del movimiento.
Cuando miro hacia atrás y trato de recordar mi adolescencia, no puedo hacerlo sin escuchar música punk o rock de fondo. Crecí en ese ambiente. Por esta razón decidí crear un proyecto fotográfico sobre la forma de vida de un grupo punky. Hablé con una banda sobre el proyecto "Ansia" y mi interés por dar una prueba documental del significado de "ser punky" con una visión desde dentro del movimiento.
Fui a sus conciertos, ensayos y reuniones. Creé una atmósfera de confianza que me permitió convertirme en otro miembro del grupo. Me interesaba igualmente encontrar adultos que habían vivido y vivirían para siempre en la filosofía del punk. Quería mostrar su día a día, sus relaciones interpersonales, su familia, su relación con las drogas que han hecho desaparecer a dos generaciones de punkis bajo el lema de “ vive rápido y muere joven “, su estética personalizada “Do it yourself” (o DIY, “hazlo tú mismo” ), la música como forma de expresar su ideología anarquista, etc., en definitiva mostrar su esencia y, sobre todo, su desacuerdo con la sociedad en la que viven, a veces muy cercana al odio.
