Alexia is a photographer and anthropologist. Her work is at the intersection between 'fine art' and 'documentary', without neatly fitting into either of these categories.
Her studies were in History of Art (SOAS) and later Anthropology (SOAS, UCL).
She is currently a PhD candidate of Anthropology at University College London (UCL). In 2007-2008 she worked as a teacher in Sierra Leone, after which she traveled extensively throughout West, Central, and East Africa. These experiences have left a strong imprint on her work.
She has also worked in journalism and as managing editor of the independent magazine Makeshift.
Her photographic work has been featured in Vogue Greece, Makeshift, Huck Magazine, Think Africa Press, Addis Rumble, Rear Curtain, and others.
