Alejandro Olivares (Santiago, Chile 1981).Photographer with special interest in social and territorial issues.         He is co-founder and editor of Buen Lugar Ediciones, a publishing house specializing in photography books. Buen Lugar  Since 2006,  he has been a photo editor for The Clinic magazine in Chile. He has been awarded various prizes and residencies by various organizations such as Council of Culture and the Arts (Rodrigo Rojas de Negri award to the photographer of the year), Nominated for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2021, National Fund for Cultural Development and the Arts (Fondart  Nacional Chile) 2012-2021-2022, Nominated for Magnum Emergency Found (USA), Residency research laboratory in Casa Pública Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Picture of the Year Latin America 2013-2015-2019-2021 (POYLATAM), Winner of the International Photography Festival in Valparaíso (FIFV), FotoVisura Grant (USA), 1st and 2nd place Latin American Prize for Photography (Latin American Center of Photography), Fifv Residence with Francoise Hebel 2015, Photography of the year Photofest Querétaro México, 2nd place documentary essay Photofest Querétaro México, Selected for PhotoEspaña 2011-2012 (Dominican Republic-Costa Rica), Zoom-In on Poverty Xinhua China and 25 times winner at the National Photography Fair of Press in Chile including the photograph of the year 2010.
