Andrew (b. 1987) is an award-winning visual journalist and storyteller based between his native Canada and adopted Brazil. His longterm work is focused on socio-environmental narratives related to the working class struggle against systemic oppression, exploitation and abandonment. His work seeks to highlight important human rights and environmental issues while examining common themes of class solidarity, resilience and resistance to the effects of late capitalism.
Andrew's professional work has been commissioned by numerous agencies and publications including The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, O Estado de São Paulo (Estadão), Mongabay, Amazon Watch and the Articulação dos Povos Indígenas do Brasil (APIB) in addition to being exhibited publicly in both Canada and Brazil. His work has been awarded and recognized by the International Photography Awards, News Photographer's Association of Canada, and Loyalist College Photojournalism Program.
Along with his native English, Andrew speaks fluent Brazilian Portuguese.
