These are photographs taken over a span of almost three years, in New York with little point and shoot, disposable cameras. The cameras, 20 in total, were packaged with a New York City tourist theme. The cameras and canisters, containing Kodak 35mm film and marked with dates between 1998-2004, appeared to be recycled several times over. Some of the cameras had light leaks and others, the flash always stayed on, requiring some on-the-fly modifications. The seventh camera was entirely blurry, ironically, that also happened to be the only camera shot at an actual tourist site, Top of the Rock. The cameras were purchased in the summer of 2011, from a guy in New Jersey who was selling off the contents of several storage containers. The time frame of shooting, was from July 2012 through April 2015. Sometimes I shot cameras back to back, other times I didn't shoot for months. I always left the packaging on the cameras, as to remind myself of the essence of the project.
