Hurricane Matthew hit the South and Grand Anse departments of Haiti, causing an unbelievable amount of damage, including loss of life and property. The residents of these areas have become victims, deprived of food, water and clothing. They are starting to recover little by little, but they no longer have a place to sleep.

Hurricane Matthew was an extremely powerful, long-lived and deadly tropical cyclone which became the first category 5 Attlantic Hurricane since Hurricane Felix in 2007. Matthew was a highly destructive and long-lasting tropical cyclone that wrought widespread destruction and catastrophic loss of life during its journey across the Western Atlantic , including parts of the Southeastern United States , having earlier impacted Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.
