Scout Film Festival, in partnership with Visura.co is proud to launch its Career Development Program in support of filmmakers aged 24 and under . This Program works to offer grants, scholarships, mentorships, internships and other career opportunities to emerging filmmakers worldwide. Kicking off this program, Scout is announcing The Scout Film Festival Short Film Grants. This is an opportunity for emerging filmmakers worldwide to receive $5,000 of cash and in-kind support for the completion of a new short narrative or documentary project or work in progress in one of two separate age categories; 18 and under or 19 to 24. The winner will be announced and prize distributed at the Scout Film Festival Awards Ceremony in 2019. The Grant has a multi-tiered mission: 1) recognize filmmakers aged 24 and under worldwide working in short film medium; 2) support an ongoing or new/future short film; 3) bring the work of filmmakers aged 24 and under to key industry leaders worldwide; and, 4) recognize the importance of supporting the next generation of film leaders. Description The Scout Career Development Program provides support, including grants, to filmmakers worldwide aged 24 and under working in the short film medium that displays: outstanding film language, cohesive & compelling storytelling, originality, and feasibility, contemporary cultural & social relevance, and potential to reach and connect with its intended audience. Preference is given to films that convey clear story structure and narrative, contemporary relevance, provoke thoughts and reflection, demonstrated access to subjects, and quality use of film craft. |
