Katerina Slesar is a freelance documentary photographer living in Moscow, Russia. In 2011 Katerina completed two-year postgraduate program in photojournalism at the Lomonosov Moscow State University. Additionally, she attended semester-long professional workshops by award-winning photojournalist Sergey Maksimishin and co-founder of Salt Images Anna Zekria.
During 2012-2013 Katerina worked on several photo essay projects in Russia and internationally, including in Myanmar and Cambodia. She is a recipient of the 2013 Lens Culture Student Photography Award, and her photo essays "Doves and the City" and "The Russian Libaries" were published in the Ogonyok Magazine in 2013. Katerina's recent photo story titled "The River" was featured at the Photography Week held during the G20 Summit in St. Petersburg, Russia. Selected photographs from "The River" series were included in the 3rd Bienalle of Contemporary Photography which will go on display at the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg in the Fall 2014.
