Rafael Fabres

He graduated in Media Communications at the UEM in Madrid and has a degree in Photography at EFTI school in Spain. Rafael focuses on documentary issues, and his work leans toward a personal approach that moves away from the descriptive narrative tradition in documentary photography. 

He attended the Eddie Adams Workshop in 2012 and in 2013 his long term project about the Pacification of the shantytowns in Rio de Janeiro has been selected for the exhibition at Visa Pour L´Image Festival XXV in Perpignan. POYi recognized his work in Brasil with an award of excellence in 2013, and PX3 awarded him for his work in Afghanistan in 2012. His work appeared in magazines around the world in such publications as TIME, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, El Pais, Paris Match, Le Monde, L´Express, Aljazeera, L´Expansion, FHM, El Pais Semanal, Il Fatto Quotidiano, De Volkskrant, Dagens Nyheter, Helsingin Sanomat, Bloomberg, NPR, MIA Magazine, Luzes Magazine or Gatopardo. His photos have been exhibited in the United States, France, Brasil and Spain. 

In 2014 he founded is production company Caminito Films, specialized in the production of audiovisual projects both editorial and corporative.
