This body of work was influenced by the 2014 International Center of Photography’s exhibition on “What is a Photograph?” that explored creative experimentation in photography.  Giving myself freedom from tradition, I attempted to channel the exhibition and explore the role of light and composition on the subject at hand.  

In the analog world of black and white film photography, my work is a gradient of blacks and whites, with the subject clearly in focus and under stood.  In the digital world, I photograph in color with a handheld computer, aka a digital camera, and develop the image not in a dark room, but in Adobe’s electronic Lightroom.  So have I created a distinct photograph or just abstractly manipulated form?  What have I expressed?  What have I conveyed?  I’ll let you decide.

The majority of these images were shot along the Garonne River bank near the Port of the Moon, UNESCO World Heritage site in Bordeaux, France and near the Opera House, close to where we were staying.
