I was educated by an artist father. At home and in the classroom. So, for me, art became the natural means of expression. Although opposed to the traditional vision in which the artist chooses a field of work - sculpture in the case of my father, Hipolito Perez Calvo- my approach is diametrically opposed. I believe that the medium should be adapted to the idea you want to convey. So I found myself working with sculpture, painting, comics, photography, video art, installation and performance, what I needed in each case.

The realization of my works is not but a way to let out an inner dialogue, through which I attempt to answer myself about the future and the consequences that the course of time causes on man and his environment, or transcendence and the sediment that we leave in our absence.

Furthermore, I work as a teacher, which has been really good for my work, as these two aspects are two sides of the same coin. My visual work is influenced by my educational approaches, and these are completely flooded by the artistic creative process. So, when I talk about my work, I do not differentiate two fields of action. Surely there lies the origin of my interest in the perceptual system and its skewed interpretation based on vested interests, both to question it as to take advantage using it as a starting point; or the relationship between the media, especially the visual and literary.

Along this path I have met other artists and teachers with whom I share approaches. I was invited to join The Keyhole Collective (Bocallave) as a result of an educational and artistic experience we shared. With colleagues in the world of teaching, who also have another creative work, we form The Red Dot Collective, which has been working, from the education aspects, with institutions of the art world such as the National Sculpture Museum or the Museum Patio Herreriano. With the latter, we have also developed another collaboration with the FeelArte Group related to Art in Action.

I have shown my work in expanding circles from my hometown, Zamora, reaching the cities I have lived most of my live, Salamanca and Valladolid, then Madrid, and other cities in Spain. Stretching finally as far as different spaces in Paris, Ghent, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and New Delhi
